A Computer Science degree is about understanding computer systems and networks. Engineering focuses on the research, design, and use of complex machines and systems. Engineering students look at the world’s problems, such as urban living, ageing, and climate change, and then use mathematics and science principles to devise practical solutions. Typically, engineering students will choose to focus on one of the many engineering subdisciplines, such as biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering. Equipped with education in math, science, and technology, engineering students go on to build innovative technologies, design computer software and hardware systems, or construct infrastructure projects, such as roads and systems for water supply.
